Go Faster Wednesday: Sky team’s Top Gun success

With the release of Top Gun: Maverick, the SkyStore Team at Nuneaton have completed their largest DVD pre-release order to date.

The customer originally asked the team to pick and pack a total of 70,000 orders to be distributed across the country. This total order increased to 80,000 within weeks of the shipment deadline.

Over a number of weeks, the team worked in collaboration with the Sky Customer Engagement Team, Operations, and Sky themselves to communicate the necessary updates to complete the task.

Several colleagues also volunteered extra weekend shifts to continue the packing and keep them in line with the weekly schedule.

And despite the short timeline of just three weeks, the team were able to complete the order early.

Sky were so impressed with the team's work that each member is due to receive a SkyStore voucher as a thank you for their hard work.

Bhumeka Mistry, Operations Manager, said: “I’m really proud of what we achieved on the Top Gun DVD pre-release. Meeting Sky’s deadline with great stock integrity, accuracy, and quality.

“For me it was a new experience working in a cross-discipline team. But it was extremely satisfying to solve problems collaboratively.

“I’d like to thank the whole team for being extremely engaged, supportive, and flexible.They worked extra hours or out of hours when needed. It was fantastic to have recognition for the effort the whole team put in, and to have great feedback and recognition from the client for the way the team delivered the project.”
