Go Wednesday: The Sky’s the limit for customer engagement

The Sky contract team is achieving high levels of customer engagement with Sky by supporting their pursuit of carbon net zero and business growth targets.
The team has supported the conversion of Sky’s vehicle fleet to greener models, supported the implementation of Sky Protect, and have helped drive product improvements.
By putting customer engagement at the heart of everything they do, a key aspect of The Unipart Way philosophy, the team demonstrated that the promise of serving a customer’s needs better than anyone else is part of Unipart’s DNA.
Rob Williams, Sky Customer Engagement Director, discussed the recent achievements: “Sky’s goals are also our goals, whether that’s in achieving net zero, business growth, or improving the way they work, think, and behave.
“The customer engagement team works closely with Sky to fully understand their needs and how we can get them to where they want to be. We have a strong history of supporting Sky in their product offerings, services, and launches, with this year proving no different.”

Rob also explained how the team is working towards net zero goals: “Rob Hannam, Head of Fleet, Sky Fleet Services, and his team have been making great headway in helping Sky to convert their fleet, which currently stands at around 2,500 vehicles, to greener models. Earlier this year, we introduced 11 new Mercedes Benz eVito vans, which are fully electric and a great choice for their engineers. We’re already in discussions with Ford around their next EV release, which will help accelerate our drive to net zero even further.”
Over at its distribution centre, Unipart Logistics Nuneaton has supported Sky’s latest product offering - Sky Protect - a technology bundle that is being sent directly to consumers who take out their new home protection service. Dan Hall, Sky Accounts Manager, said: “We’ve been working with Sky on the launch of Protect for over a year. The project included implementing a new customer order interface with Sky, and the UL team has been incredibly agile and quick to react to customisation, support, and last minute requests. This is a great growth opportunity for us, with forecasts of an additional 100,000 Sky customer orders processed a year.”

Finally, global expansion and diversification is a big element of Unipart’s strategic imperative of accelerating margin accretive growth. Rob Williams said: “Unipart Logistics’ specialist Technical Evaluation Suite (TES) in Nuneaton has been driving product improvements for Sky UK through deep product assessments for over 10 years.
“With our reputation in the UK for such strong technical and support capabilities, Sky Germany didn’t have a hard choice to make when looking for a partner in implementing similar product investigations. We are now using our TES for Sky Germany products too. So far they’ve been impressed with our offering and we look forward to strengthening this relationship.
“Using The Unipart Way tools and techniques, it’s great to see so many colleagues engage with the customer, contributing to the success in reaching our aims of improving customer experience and satisfaction. Thank you to the entire team for all their support and effort during the roll out of these projects - ensuring each launch was a success for Sky and their customers.”
