Growing in South Korea with BYD
Unipart has played a key role in supporting BYD Auto’s launch into the South Korean electric vehicle (EV) market, officially beginning operations last December with an initial shipment of 32 product lines.

As part of this partnership, we have established and now manage a dedicated aftersales warehouse. This facility handles freight, storage, and deliveries, ensuring smooth operations as BYD expands in South Korea. Initially covering 1,000 square metres, the warehouse is designed to scale up as demand increases.
In addition to our Logistics Transportation capabilities, Unipart are also supporting Planning and Supply Chain Management Capabilities, helping BYD to build a supply chain in South Korea that is efficient from day one, can scale as their business grows, and supports their vision for a cleaner future.
Carl Williams, Managing Director, Asia Pacific, shares more about this exciting new partnership with BYD and what it means for Unipart’s future growth in the electric vehicle (EV) industry.

“It's really exciting that BYD has chosen Unipart in South Korea as the territory is attracting a lot of attention for electric vehicle sales, particularly from new entrants from China.
BYD is right at the front of the pack and, as growing quickly is really important to them, they have sought a partner in South Korea that can demonstrate agility and the ability to grow alongside them.
The site we are launching now is unlikely to be the same in a year’s time—it’s expected to be significantly bigger as BYD expands - and we have the opportunity to grow with them.
This is something Unipart has proven experience in, as we have done this with existing clients in South Korea, as well as with other electric vehicle manufacturers in mainland China.
The warehouse is critical to BYD’s success in South Korea, and now we have launched this, we now need to demonstrate that we are delivering—and ideally over-delivering—on our commitments to BYD for the next quarter and beyond. The future relationship we have with BYD will be built on what we deliver in these initial months.
We were fortunate enough to meet with the BYD management team yesterday, and they shared some of their vehicle sales data—it’s already really strong. There is a lot of excitement within BYD about their potential in South Korea.
It's also clear there will be more new entrants in the South Korean EV market and this could also present further exciting opportunities for Unipart in the Automotive sector within this territory in the future."
