Magna Park South Officially Opens!

This week, Unipart Logistics held the official opening of its Magna Park South site, celebrating the efforts and achievements of the entire team in delivering this milestone project in the next step of our ongoing long term partnership with Apple.

Seven members of the Apple Leadership team, some flying in for the occasion from Ireland and California, joined Unipart’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and a number of other UL Leaders to tour the new site, and meet the Unipart colleagues who were able to demonstrate how they think, work and behave in The Unipart Way to deliver our customer promise for Apple.

After the tour Brian Cassidy, Apple’s EMEIA Director of Logistics, took the opportunity to thank Unipart colleagues for their amazing work, reminding them that they have been part of every innovation Apple has brought in to ensure a great customer experience since our partnership started in 2006. He also explained why they were so important to Apple:

“The Unipart team are an integral part of the Apple supply chain because if you do a great job, you can turn a bad experience into a good experience and ensure that the customer stays a customer….and our customer service stats prove show you are doing just that as they are on a par, or better, than anywhere else in the world, so a huge thank you , I couldn’t be happier to be here today and to see this facility.”

Ian Truesdale, Unipart Logistics Managing Director, also spoke about the valued relationship we have with Apple, and thanked the MPS teams for always working to meet their high service standards, truly living our customer promise every day to “understand the real and perceived needs of Apple better than anyone else, and serve them anyone else”.

Darren Leigh, Unipart CEO, and Brian Cassidy then officially opened the site with the cutting of a ribbon under a special balloon arch, and colleagues celebrated the moment with a round of applause, followed by cupcakes and team pictures to mark the occasion. A great day for Unipart!

The new 356,000 sqft Magna Park South site is home to around 467 colleagues who work on more services for Apple in one warehouse, than any other facility in the world! This includes Mac repairs, fault diagnostics and basic repairs of a wide range of Apple products (iPhones, iPad, iPods, Apple watches and Beats headphones), distribution of products and parts to Apple stores, and the processing of older phones that have been traded in.

Unipart is one of Apple’s longest operating partners, having worked with them for the last 17 years. The visual below, that is also on the colleague entrance corridor wall and in the office area of the new site, shows our amazing journey so far with them so far!
