Mercia Park 2023

Unipart won the contract to operate a new global aftermarket parts distribution centre at Mercia Park for Jaguar Land Rover two years ago.

The two million-square-foot facility will go fully operational this year, and reduce the need for intersite transport by around 25% by bringing the Jaguar Land Rover parts together under one roof.

Operations Director Paul Matthews said: “JLR has trusted Unipart to manage their site for two main reasons. First and foremost, we have a partnership that's lasted over 30 years, and secondly, Unipart has a unique culture. That culture is based upon The Unipart Way and process improvement.

“The project itself is a massive undertaking; we are aiming to recruit around about a thousand people by the end of 2023. This project has given us a real opportunity to be seen in the wider business as a company that can deliver projects of scale with partners as big as JLR.”
