Parternship flying high with Airbus

Unipart has recently extended our partnership with global aerospace manufacturer Airbus for a further two years.
The 450+ strong Unipart team supports Airbus in the production of wings for commercial aircraft at their Broughton and Filton sites, and are a critical part of the Airbus operation.
Unipart provides Logistics and Transportation services including Inbound, kitting and line side delivery to the Airbus on-site wing assembly lines, ensuring exactly the right parts are delivered to each engineer at exactly the right time to meet the precise production schedule.

Business Unit Director Ash Evans explains how the team is supporting Airbus to deliver on our customer promise.
“Unipart has been working in partnership with Airbus since March 2023, and in that time we have worked closely with our customer to support them in both their current needs and longer term priorities and objectives.
“To further support Airbus as one of our key strategic customers, Unipart has also won several important pieces of Consultancy work, expanding the range of capabilities we offer them and further demonstrating the value of our partnership.
“As further evidence of our strategic commitment to Airbus, the Broughton site was recently selected to host the first in a series of ‘breakthrough’ improvement events as part of the UK Logistics & Transport Transformation programme, focussed on conducting a ‘deep dive’ into processes to drive tangible improvements, increased value for the customer and sustainable and profitable growth.

“As well as senior sponsorship, the team was bolstered with expertise from the wider business in addition to the local leaders and subject area experts from the Broughton team. Working with a ‘go and see’ approach, the team closely observed processes, identifying multiple improvement opportunities.
“Findings and recommendations were presented back to senior stakeholders including Mike Bristow and the customer at the end of the week long event. Airbus have been delighted with the proposals presented, and, keen to keep up the momentum, projects have already commenced to deliver operational and financial benefits.“
“The contract extension is a great vote of confidence from Airbus and demonstrates the level of trust we have with our customer, as we continue to actively support them with their supply chain transformation journey.
“ In light of the contract extension, over coming years we will be continuing to get closer to our customer to support their supply chain strategy whilst also delivering against the Unipart Way Forward strategy.
“I’d like to thank the whole team who support Airbus every day by putting The Unipart Way at the heart of everything they do to add value and deliver our customer promise.”
