Celebrating 50 Years with Burton!

This week, our Burton site hosted a roadshow event to celebrate Unipart's 50th anniversary. The event, attended by 500 colleagues, marked five decades of dedication and hard work.

The event began with a video presentation that reviewed our company’s history. This was followed by a BBQ, which received positive feedback from attendees. The favourable weather contributed to the event’s overall success.

Activities included 'Hook-a-Duck’ and ‘World Tour’ card games, which were particularly popular and featured enjoyable prizes such as sweets if completed as an individual or celebrations as a team. Photo opportunities and giant bubbles were also available. Additionally, a decorated cake and various sweets were provided.

A notable part of the celebration was the ‘Soak a Manager’ charity event, which raised over £160 for Ohmatdyt Children's Hospital. This activity was well-received and highlighted our commitment to supporting important causes.

Commemorative pins were distributed to all attendees, and the site was decorated with bunting, balloons, and other decorations, which enhanced the atmosphere.

Matt Ryan, Shift Operations Manager, said: “The day was amazingly planned by the team at Waterstones. The ‘Soak a Manager’ competition was a huge success where the site came together to throw sponges at their leaders. Unipart reaching 50 years is a huge success and the Waterstones contract has been a part of this for over 15 years now. The staff at Waterstones have lived the Unipart fundamentals during this time following Unipart’s standard work approach and continuous improvement philosophy.”

Overall, the 50th-anniversary celebration at Burton was successful, reflecting a sense of achievement and unity.
