Celebrating 50 Years with Honeybourne!

This week our Automotive site Honeybourne held their 50th anniversary roadshow celebrations. During the first session on Monday colleagues got together over some breakfast baguettes to learn all about Unipart’s history and growth over the last 50 years.
A highlight of the event was the debut of a specially designed golden “50th Roadshow Spin the Wheel” crafted by Bartosz Cwojdzinski from Baginton. This added an element of excitement with the chance to win prizes including 50p, £50 or a 50 minute early finish. The golden wheel will also be featured in upcoming roadshows at Canley and Baginton later in the year, embodying our culture of best practice sharing as the way we work at Unipart
Day 2: More Learning, Laughter, and Fun

Honeybourne’s second day saw another fantastic turnout, with more ‘Spin the Wheel’ winners and Forum Lead John Beckett leading a round of ‘higher / lower’ using the Unipart World Tour cards.
Final Day: Honouring Our Legacy
The final day of the roadshow celebrations was equally memorable as Business Unit Director Ash Evans presented long service awards to Mark Haughtey, Ian Dee and Paul Cole, with a staggering 80 years’ service between them! The highlight was a special guest speaker Doug Alcock, who worked at Honeybourne from 1972 to 2003. Doug shared some of the fascinating history of the site, from being used by the US Military during the war, to the very beginnings of the logistics operation, when the local farmer was still permitted to graze his sheep on the land!

Operations Director Colin Harman said, “I really enjoyed listening to Doug's recollections of the site. It really brought to life how far we have come and all that we have achieved as a business in the last 50 years, whilst still retaining our people, performance and customer focused culture through The Unipart Way.”
Final day activities included a darts competition with those scoring closest to 50 getting to spin the now famous Gold Wheel, with Colin Harman narrowly avoiding the 50 press ups forefit.

Ash Evans said, “What a thoroughly enjoyable day. I was especially pleased to present just some of Honeybourne’s long service awards recognising the huge dedication of this team and the contribution they have made to Unipart’s history. A massive thanks to all who took part and the team who helped prepare and run a great engaging event!”
Happy 50th Birthday Unipart, from all at Honeybourne. Here’s to many more years of success!
