50 Years of Unipart celebrated at Baginton!

Baginton held their 50th anniversary roadshow celebrations last week, bringing colleagues together from different teams to take part.

The sessions included a look back at some of the highlights from Unipart’s remarkable 50 year history and Forum Lead John Beckett reprising his role as quiz master extraordinaire, getting participants fully involved in the 50 year quiz and the Unipart World Tour game, with prizes handed out along the way for those with the best Unipart knowledge.

Senior Logistics Manager Shaun Lewis said, “I was grateful to have the opportunity to be part of the 50th birthday celebrations, and it was great to see everyone involved in enjoying Unipart’s milestone achievement. It was interesting to look back at Unipart’s history, and everyone here seemed to enjoy the roadshows.”

“Many colleagues at Baginton have many years’ service and have been a key part of many of the milestones on our journey, which made it extra special for everyone here.”

Baginton is proud to have a number of colleagues who have developed their careers with Unipart: 23 colleagues are celebrating a service milestone of between 10 and 45 years this year alone and those colleagues have an incredible 560 years service between them!

Colleagues also had the opportunity to take part in games with more prizes handed out for those with the highest and lowest score on the giant dice game, the colleague with the key to fit the Unipart door and even the colleague who found the 50th anniversary logo on their slice of cake!

The bespoke crafted golden '50th Roadshow Spin the Wheel' made its return, and colleagues scoring the highest and lowest after rolling five giant dice had the opportunity to spin to win a 50 themed prize: from 50p to £50 or a 50 minute late start or early finish. Some colleagues from the Canley site attended the sessions at Baginton. Operations Director Andy Pyne, Head of Internal Communications and Engagement Jo Matson and Business Unit Director Ash Evans also attended sessions during the week, and Ash took the opportunity to present a service milestone award to Dennis Walker, a former Baginton colleague now based at Canley, celebrating his 20th year with the business in 2024.

CARE recognition awards were also presented to Ash Potts and to John Beckett and Reena Khabra for the care they have demonstrated for all their colleagues at site over the past few weeks in supporting the canteen to continue running effectively in the absence of a key member of staff: essential for engagement!

During the week the site also held a barbeque for colleagues on site to enjoy, with tasty burgers, sausages and coleslaw for all, and luckily got the best of the British weather.
