Broughton and Filton's 50th Celebrations
Airbus Celebrates 50 Years of Unipart!
Teams on the Airbus contract in Broughton and Filton have been celebrating Unipart’s 50th anniversary with presentations and a whole host of golden themed activities.
Teams have had the opportunity to learn more about Unipart’s heritage and growth with the specially created video charting our history and culture. As a mark of recognition, and embracing the golden anniversary theme, each colleague also received a pack containing their own gold Unipart 50 year pin, chocolate Gold Bar and a raffle ticket, to be in with a chance to win a selection of raffle prizes.
At Broughton, the team took part in a special edition of the Unipart World Tour game in a ‘Play Your Cards Right’ style, learning more about other sites in the Unipart family along the way.
Business Unit Director, Ash Evans was also on hand to present the monthly awards to colleagues who had demonstrated Unipart’s CARE framework in action, thanking them for their brilliant demonstration of continually improving, always delivering excellence, respectful ways of working and being encouraging and inclusive.
At Filton, the small team were also treated to a special edition of ‘Spin the Wheel’ with prizes up for grabs in recognition of the team’s hard work and dedication. Ash Evans also hosted a Q&A session with the team, giving the team more insight into Unipart and our plans for future growth.
The highlight of the session was the presentation of a collection for Kids Bank, the Airbus team’s nominated charity, who collect new and pre-loved items for babies and children of families who may be struggling. In total this year the Airbus team have raised over £4,500 for the charity, including an estimated £1,500 raised as part of this year’s Big Charity Challenge!
As a contract Airbus is still relatively new to Unipart, so this was a great opportunity for the teams to be included in the celebrations and learn more about the wider business and the role they play in how the company plans to grow in the future.
I really enjoyed spending some time with the colleagues at both Broughton and Filton and was especially pleased to have the opportunity to recongise our teams for all that they do to bring to life our customer promise for Airbus every day.

Unipart took on a five year contract with Europe’s largest aerospace company Airbus in 2023.
The Airbus sites at Broughton near Chester and Filton in Bristol design, test and manufacture wings for Airbus aircraft and Unipart provide Inbound, warehousing, kitting and line feed logistics to the on site wing assembly lines at both sites. Airbus forms part of 2 core sectors in the Aerospace and Defence and Automotive sector. Providing core capabilities of logistics and distribution and consultancy.
Did you know.. The first Concorde was designed and built at Filton, and the last of the supersonic passenger jets now resides in Bristol Aerospace Museum.
