50 Years of Unipart celebrated by the JCB team!

Colleagues from across the three JCB ‘In Plant’ sites at Beamhurst, Cheadle and Rocester came together last month to take part in celebrations to mark Unipart’s 50th anniversary.
Each session brought colleagues together from each of the three sites, allowing those who do not normally work together to get to know each other and work together as a team, aiming to gather the most points and top the leadership board in the Unipart 50th anniversary quiz.
Sessions started with an introduction from General Manager Jason Harvey and watching the Unipart 50 year video. Things then quickly got very competitive, with questions linked to Unipart’s 50 year journey, who Unipart are today and the journey of the JCB In Plant team since Unipart took on the contract last year. There was some particularly impressive music knowledge on display, as teams had to name tracks and artists from a selection of years linked to Unipart’s milestone years.

Business Unit Director Ash Evans attended some of the sessions and held a Q&A session with the teams to answer more questions about Unipart and our future strategy for growth, with some great questions from the teams around how Unipart supports colleagues on their personal development journeys.
Ash was also on hand to present CARE awards for Colleagues of the Month to Dawn Bearcroft and Sylwia Krzyzanowska and there were spot prizes for randomly selected colleagues who had the opportunity to ‘Spin the Wheel’ for more prizes including time away from work and vouchers.
Everyone who attended the sessions was also presented with a small souvenir in the form of some Unipart merchandise, their gold 50th anniversary pin badge and even a branded 50th anniversary biscuit!

Ruth Edwards, who ran the sessions, said, “Some people were a bit hesitant to start with but once they entered the sessions it was great to see them relax, have a break from work and enjoy themselves, having a laugh with colleagues they don’t usually work alongside. The feedback was that the teams found it really informative and some were quite surprised about the history and reach of Unipart.”
I was delighted to be invited to take part in some of the JCB contract celebrations. The team did a great job in bringing colleagues together to have some fun and learn more about Unipart, and I was pleased to be able to answer some great questions about the wider business and The Unipart Way as the way we think, work and behave.
Photo Time!
There will be some final roundup blogs coming soon from BAC and KSA. Thank you to all who facilitated these events and made them happen.
