Celebrating 50 Years with NHS: A look back at the final few events across our sites

Over the past couple of months, our final 3 NHS sites held small events to celebrate Unipart’s 50th Anniversary. Read below the roundup of what has been happening across Maidstone, Bridgwater and HDS Daventry.

NHS Maidstone

Maidstone combined the 50th Celebrations with The Big Charity Challenge last week as a one-stop shop of events. Even with the many operational challenges they faced Maidstone still managed to showcase the digital video, hold a bake sale and a raffle. Raising money for MacMillian Cancer Research. They exceeded their initial target of £400 and actually achieved £587, which was really great to see.

NHS Bridgwater

On the whole, Bridgwater held a one stop BBQ as their chosen activity of the roadshow and decorated the site with banners and balloons. They also raised £152 adding to the combined total that now sits in excess of £10,000 for Bridgwater friends of Cancer Research UK

HDS/ Daventry

This was the first time Transport and Warehouse teams had come together to celebrate the 50th anniversary. All the managers from both departments came to celebrate, and they took time out to pose for photos that everyone enjoyed. They all shared a buffet together and told stories of past events while working on this contract. This was a good bonding experience between the two departments, and the food was said to be amazing.

Lara Watson, Network Operations Resource Manager, expressed her thoughts on the events saying “We've had some amazing events to celebrate Unipart's 50th birthday across NHS Supply Chain - we have done a myriad of celebrations across all sites including open days, site tours, BBQ’s, family fun days, quizzes and of course raising money for our charities of choice working towards The Big Charity Challenge. These events stem from the onsite teams and our forums pulling together to celebrate on a site-by-site basis the wonderful work our colleagues do across NHSSC and of course Unipart. Thanks to all our staff for the great job they do and for pulling together to make these amazing events happen.”
