Last week the US logistics sites hosted their events to celebrate Unipart’s 50th anniversary! Sites included Brisbane, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Chicago and Mickleton. CEO Darren Leigh made the journey from the UK, to visit Unipart Rail’s Westcode site along with Unipart Logistics sites in Jacksonville and Atlanta, as part of the 50th celebrations.

Jacksonville

The 50th event at our Jacksonville site included the animated video showcasing Unipart’s 50 year history. The event was full of activities, recognition, and laughter. There was an Axe Throwing competition where the winner got a lotto ticket. The Golf putting challenge saw the champion take home a Snack Pack, with the Unipart ‘World Tour’ winner, earning a well-deserved 50 minute paid lie-in! Additionally, 3 other colleagues received Snack Packs as part of their CARE Recognitions.

Alongside the games, the day also featured a speech by Darren Leigh, and the presentation of the Long Service Awards. The following colleagues were given their awards for 5-years of service - Jeff Elam, Joanne Melore, Johnathan Busher, Josh Hester, Chris Schroder, Kevin Runninger. With Gareth Hall receiving his award for 15-years of service at Unipart! Congratulations to you all for your hard work and service.

A Day to Remember, In the words of Jeff Elam, Operations Manager:

"Jacksonville’s 50th bash was a blast! Guests took a swing at putt-putt golf, battled it out in a card game called "Unipart Top Trump," and hurled axes with surprising accuracy (Darren came in a close 2nd place). With prizes, plenty of photos, and cupcakes to fuel the fun, it was a party where the only thing sharper than the axes was the laughter. We are incredibly proud of our Jacksonville team and look forward to many more years of success”!

Our 50th celebrations were a huge hit with the entire team! We had a great time with action-packed games like basketball and cornhole. It’s wonderful to be part of a company with such a rich history, not only in business but also in the Unipart Way. Whether it's through our day-to-day interactions or the special events, we strive to embody the Unipart values in everything we do - interacting with our peers, engaging with our leaders, and serving our clients.

Darren Leigh, CEO - Reflects on his visit to the US Sites.

“One of the biggest advantages of my role is that it affords me the opportunity to visit Unipart Group's 83 locations around the world and to have the pleasure of getting to meet our 12,000 colleagues in person. Wherever I go I get to see our reassuringly high engagement levels first hand. Witnessing the meticulous care and efficiency across our North America sites first-hand was inspiring.

The team's dedication and expertise is essential to our long-term valued customers and crucial to our broader strategy for growth and operational excellence in North America.

A special thank you to the entire team for their warm hospitality and for the opportunity to present several long service and CARE awards in recognition of outstanding contributions from colleagues and for the opportunity to visit the memorial garden at Westcode to pay my respect to colleagues who are no longer with us.

As part of my visit to the US, I was delighted to be able to take part in the 50 year anniversary celebrations where we looked back at our history, celebrated who we are today and learned more about The Unipart Way Forward strategy.

I particularly enjoyed the engaging events the team had put on (some more competitive than others!) and seeing the team's get fully involved in the celebrations.

It was also great to hear about the many opportunities for growth with our customers in the US as we look to the future.

I look forward to joining more 50th year celebrations over the coming months and encourage you all to get involved at your local sites.”
