Highlights from The Unipart Way CARE Awards

A Night to Remember
Unipart colleagues came together on Wednesday, 26 February 2025, for a special evening of recognition at the The Unipart Way CARE Awards.
These celebrated those who go above and beyond to demonstrate The Unipart Way, CARE behaviours. The night was filled with inspirational stories, appreciation, and a shared commitment to a bright future.
Inspiring Words from Leadership
The event began with a warm welcome from Jo Matson, Head of Internal Communications & Engagement, and Alice Bridle, Director of Strategic Planning and Execution. They were followed by Darren Leigh, Unipart’s CEO, who reflected on the company’s ongoing dedication to The Unipart Way.
“In 2024, Unipart celebrated 50 years of history and heritage,” Darren said. “Many of you were involved in our roadshows and celebrations, bringing to life our journey and our vision for growth. To be a finalist tonight is an outstanding achievement, and you represent the very best of Unipart, demonstrating CARE in everything you do.”
He went on to highlight the company’s strong performance in its milestone year and the promising growth ahead, reinforcing Unipart’s commitment to sustainability, customer satisfaction, and innovation.

Recognising Excellence: The CARE Award Winners
As part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations, colleagues were encouraged to nominate those who best embodied Unipart’s CARE values. Over 180 nominations were received, undergoing a rigorous shortlisting and judging process. Every nomination was anonymised to ensure fairness, and the standard of submissions was exceptionally high.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of awards across five key categories:
- Continuously Improve and Innovate winner – Matt Kendell (Team Leader, Automotive, Mercia Park)Our two highly commended colleagues in this category were - Gavin Briscoe (Senior Ops Manager, Mercia Park) and Micheas Herbert (Shift Manager,Cowley DC)
- Always Deliver Excellence winner – Chelsea Woolaston (Senior MP&L & Production Planner, Manufacturing, UPA Coventry) our winner.Our two highly commended colleagues in this category were - Katelyn Wayman (Security Team Leader, Nuneaton) and Scotty Miah (Team Leader, Mercia Park)
- Respectful Ways of Working winner – Alexandru Grama, Marek Curilla & Neil Pinnell (Shift Manager, Team Leader & Health & Safety Manager, Automotive, Cowley DC)Our two highly commended colleagues in this category were - Dorota Watson (Senior Stock Analyst, Tamworth VW) and Simon Turner ( Senior Systems Specialist, Mercia Park)
- Encouraging and Inclusive Behaviours winner – Sukh Sangha (Operational Colleague, Automotive, Mercia Park)Our two highly commended colleagues in this category were - Matt Cooper (Procurement Support, Jupiter House) and Nigel Collier (Network Support Team Leader, Tamworth VW)
A total of 15 finalists were recognised for their outstanding contributions. The most prestigious award of the night, the Overall CARE Award, was presented to Louise Friend, Stock Operations Manager at Mercia. Whose dedication, teamwork, and embodiment of Unipart’s values earned high praise from colleagues and leaders alike.

The CARE Awards were not just a celebration of past achievements but also a vision for the future. As Unipart continues to grow, the company remains committed to fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and respect.
