Hyperbat win at the Made in the Midlands Awards

Paul Day, SHE and Operations Manager reflects on Hyperbat's successes so far in 2025!
Here at Hyperbat, I’m incredibly proud to say that we’re not just building EV battery systems; we’re building a culture of excellence powered by The Unipart Way. In my role as SHE and Operations Manager, I get to see first-hand how our teams embody how we Think, Work and Behave to deliver exceptional value and it is truly inspiring.
That dedication was clear in our recent “Manufacturer of the Year Award - in the Midlands” win. This award is great recognition of our hard work, innovation and collaboration that defines Hyperbat. It highlights our commitment to producing cutting-edge battery solutions and to driving continuous improvement in everything we do. It was also a very proud moment to see colleagues from all functional areas of Hyperbat, from shop floor right up to leadership, attend the awards ceremony and ultimately see us win and collect the award.

Thinking ahead: Our innovative mindset
Our success starts with a forward-thinking approach, something we really focus on with The Unipart Way’s “Think” principle. The introduction of our new EV battery pilot line is a great example of this, showcasing our commitment to innovation and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in high-performance battery manufacturing. The expansion of the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering is another key part of this, demonstrating our investment into research and development to stay at the top of our game. The way we can tailor bespoke battery systems to meet our unique needs of our customer, along with the scalable battery solutions for commercial vehicles strengthens our aims at driving down development costs.
Working together: Our collaborative approach
The Unipart Way shapes how we “Work” collaboratively and efficiently. For example, reducing thermal propagation in battery modules required strong teamwork with suppliers and customers. The £11.3m H1PerChain project expanded our manufacturing area, increasing production for key customers which also demonstrates our focus on delivery.
Behaving with CARE

Our behaviours demonstrate a commitment to Always Deliver Excellence. We adhered to set quality standards, digital conformance, and traceability to ensure reliable battery systems. We prioritise employee satisfaction and foster a safe, productive environment. Our own Chelsea Woolaston recently received another award back in February this year when attending The Unipart Way CARE Awards for this exact reason. Delivering on Our Promise: Driving Efficient, Resilient, and Sustainable Supply Chains

Ultimately, we focus on delivering for our customers, aligning with Unipart’s ambition to be the driving force behind efficient, resilient and sustainable supply chains. Reducing cost and carbon with our battery packs and solutions along with our drive in research and development landed us this win of Manufacturer of the Year - in the Midlands. Now that we have won this award we have been shortlisted for the same award but in The UK manufacturer awards in June. Stay tuned to find out the outcome of that award later this year.
