This week Unipart Chairman, John Neill made a final visit to where it all started in the Cowley Distribution Centre to say a personal thank you to the teams who bring The Unipart Way to life every day.

John toured the warehouse to visit colleagues on each of the contracts including Selco, Hyperoptic, JLR, McLaren and VZ3 and shared memories of the site with a number of long servers as well as speaking to those newer to the business. He also spoke to a number of previous 'Mark in Action' Award winners, an accolade close to John’s heart, having established the award scheme in 1988 to recognise and reward Unipart colleagues who have played a part in delivering outstanding customer service.

The team then surprised John with a thank you of their own, giving him a ‘guard of honour’ as he returned to the Faculty on the Floor. John was presented with a framed picture of the original architect’s design for Unipart House and a personalised, Unipart sponsored, Oxford United football shirt, recognising the long association between Unipart and the local football club. Colleagues from across the DC and Unipart House, and even some long serving colleagues who have now retired from the business, came out in force to show their appreciation.

General Manager Barry Scott said, “It was wonderful to have John with us so that we could give him a more personal send off, and highlight everything we have been able to achieve both for our customers and our colleagues in the Cowley operation as a result of his leadership and personal commitment to The Unipart Way. Thank you John, from all of us in Cowley, and may we wish you a very happy retirement!
