Wellbeing Wednesday - Connecting during Covid-19
We are living in very uncertain and unsettling times, and to make matters even more difficult, our contact with friends, family, colleagues, customers and the wider community is very restricted as we battle the coronavirus pandemic.
We all need to interact with others so it is not surprising that we are missing that social connection we normally take for granted and this can affect our wellbeing.
As a company, we have always been proud of the way in which we embrace change and adapt quickly to new situations. It is therefore no suprise that teams have been finding new and creative ways of keeping in touch and supporting each other during this time. Whether teams are social distancing on site, working remotely from home or on furlough, we have heard about how teams are keeping their team spirit alive in lockdown.
Unipart Logistics Chief Commercial Officer Claire Walters has prepared this short video blog, explaining some of the new ways in which the Commercial team has been connecting in recent weeks.

"Keeping calm and carrying on at Como isn't so bad!"
Other parts of the business have also been finding new ways of keeping morale high whilst working remotely or social distancing on site. At Como House in the UK, colleagues working in Customer Service for the NHS Supply Chain contract admit that a constant supply of cookies, cakes and cuppas has helped, along with the odd impromptu dance to a cheery background tune, playing on the radio. Working over the Easter weekend was a perfect excuse for more chocolate and cake, and colleagues are already planning a celebratory fancy dress afternoon tea party for this Friday's public holiday!
Meanwhile, in the US...
Across the pond, colleagues in the US report that employee engagement is high - particularly since the introduction of their "Spin the Wheel" recognition programme in Chicago, virtual coffee breaks on Google Meet where colleagues do a quiz, share recipes and even share their high school photos!.
