Wellbeing Wednesday: Dave gets a flu jab
Every winter vulnerable people and frontline health workers are encouraged to get vaccinated to help protect themselves and others from seasonal flu.
With Covid disruption set to continue for the next few months, the UK Government is encouraging a wider group of people to get the seasonal flu jab, including those aged 50 to 64.
Falling gracefully into that category, Dave Tilmouth in Unipart Rail agreed to film his experience of visiting his local pharmacy to get a seasonal flu jab for the first time.
Unipart is urging all colleagues to consider getting the seasonal flu jab this winter, you can read more on that in last month’s management brief.
If you’re in an at risk group you can get the flu jab for free at your GP or local pharmacy. Read more on the NHS website.
Free jabs for over 50s should be made available for free later in the year, but if, like Dave, you want to be proactive about protecting your family, friends and colleagues by getting vaccinated you can do so at a number of pharmacies - regardless which side of 50 you are.
Please note due to high demand many pharmacies have suspended booking for now, but some do allow you to join a mailing list to be notified of future openings.
