Colleague Awarded Prestigious King’s Coronation Medal

Sarah Smyth, Regional Customer Service Manager for the NHS Supply Chain, has been awarded a prestigious King’s Coronation Medal following the support provided to the Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response team ahead and during the King’s Coronation event.
Sarah was presented the award at a ceremony in London by Caroline Clarke, Regional Director for London NHSE.
The King Charles III Coronation Medal is a commemorative medal created to mark the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla and recognise individuals who actively contributed to the official Coronation events in Westminster Abbey and processions, and other officially recognised ceremonial coronation events.
Sarah has previously been awarded two Mark in Action awards for her outstanding services to the customer, NHS Supply Chain.
Sarah said: “We do a huge amount of work behind the scenes to support the Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response team. We know that the amount of work that goes into events like the coronation, and our work feeds into the wider NHS to make sure everyone at those events are safe. Most of what we do with these events is confidential and behind closed doors so it feels great to be recognised for it as part of the extended NHS family.
“I’m so proud to have been awarded and nominated by NHS England so that came as a huge shock and surprise. I don’t think we can get a higher accolade for all the team’s hard work.”
Sarah Young, Head of Customer Service said: “It’s incredible to have Sarah and the team’s hard work recognised again. As Sarah is involved in the London region, a lot of the work is sensitive and that is why it's all kept under wraps. It’s only when something like this occurs that people understand the huge variety in scale of things that we need to get involved in to keep the NHS performing well.
“It’s also fantastic to see Sarah’s achievements recognised by the wider Unipart community and the support provided for colleagues to accomplish such exceptional service when supporting the NHS.”
