Understanding how using data can really get you to root cause

After going through the Six Sigma greenbelt training, Jose Fragona identified that quality checks on the receiving process weren't fit for purpose as the sample size that the team could complete in a day was too small to be of any value.

He identified a huge amount of overprocessing of data that was limiting the output of the team. Armed with this information, he set about developing a database that would allow the team to complete the quality checks in a logical way, and automate the recording of data which gave them a benefit of £80,000 per year along with raising the capability of the team to maintain quality.
