Westcode Inc New Jersey Transit win

Westcode Inc, a Unipart Rail company, won a multimillion dollar contract with New Jersey Transit to convert Comet V heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) units to more environmentally-sustainable models across its transport inventory.

New Jersey Transit is the second largest commuter rail system in the US by ridership, providing more than 925,000 weekday trips on 253 bus routes, three light rail lines, 12 commuter rail lines and through Access Link paratransit service.

Douglas M Eaton, Westcode Inc Director of Engineering, said “The Comet V cars are one of New Jersey Transit’s top performing vehicles and the ability to have new or almost new HVAC equipment for the next 10 to 15 years will keep these cars running and increase the reliability over time."
