CARE Award Winner - Matt Kendell

The CARE Awards were a special occasion to recognise and honour our colleagues who consistently demonstrated our core CARE behaviours in their daily work. These awards served as a testament to the commitment, achievement, and genuine passion our team members bring to our organisation.
Over the coming weeks, we are sharing the inspiring stories of our award recipients, highlighting their remarkable contributions and dedication.
Today, we're spotlighting Matt Kendell, Inbound Team Leader at Mercia Park, who received the 'Continuously Improve and Innovate' CARE Award.
The Continually Improve and Innovate Award
When presenting this award, David McGorman, Managing Director Technology, highlighted on the night, the 'Continually improve and innovate' behaviours, are about more than just suggesting new ideas. They are about actively seeking opportunities for improvement, thinking differently, and driving positive change.
Colleagues nominated in this category have truly embodied The Unipart Way by striving to make what they do better, faster, and more efficient. They have proactively taken opportunities to improve their own skills, applying these and best practices in their areas for the benefit of themselves, their colleagues, Unipart and our customers, and have supported others through the changes required to drive these improvements.
The Continuously Improve and Innovate CARE Award recognises individuals who actively seek opportunities for improvement, think differently, and drive positive change. They demonstrate a commitment to enhancing processes, skills, and best practices for the benefit of their team, the organisation, and our customers.

Matt's Reaction

"I was extremely humbled to be nominated, and it was great to hear my nominator say such kind words about me not just as a Team Leader but also personally. I didn't expect to make it through to the finalists and when I got the invite to attend the event I was quite shocked. It was my great honour to receive the first ever CARE award for Continual innovation and improvement, and again was very humbling, as we found out on the day that 91 people had been nominated in that category, so for me to be chosen as the winner was truly special to me and it was very nice to know that my hard work and effort is recognised and appreciated."
Matt’s achievement is a testament to his dedication to continual improvement and innovation. His commitment to driving positive change makes him a valuable asset to Unipart. We congratulate Matt on this well-deserved award and thank him for his contributions.
