Celebrating Our People: Priya Chetty’s Inspiring Journey at Volvo Sydn

We recently announced the extension of our partnership with Volvo in Australia. Key to achieving this success is our dedicated team who deliver outstanding service to our customer through putting The Unipart Way at the heart of everything they do.

But there is one person in particular whose leadership has transformed the site into a high-performing operation.

Lachlan Wymer, Territory Director - Australia, explains how Priya Chetty, Warehouse Supervisor, Volvo Sydney, has played a vital role in securing this renewal with this important customer in the Automotive sector.

From Team Member to Leader

“Priya joined Unipart three years ago as a Distribution Centre Operative (DCO) and has made an incredible impact since day one. Her hard work and commitment to continuous improvement have not only enhanced operations but also strengthened our partnership with Volvo.

The Unipart business in Australia is very proud of Priya’s development in the Volvo Sydney operation. Her drive to learn, grow, and improve is second to none. She is always looking for ways to enhance services for Volvo while keeping her team highly engaged and motivated to deliver great results.

A Culture of Growth and Recognition

Priya’s journey from DCO to Warehouse Supervisor is a great example of the opportunities available at Unipart.

Since 2024, Priya has prioritised employee engagement and retention, leading to a notable improvement in the site's Employee Engagement (EE) score. Under her leadership, the score rose from 4.1 in 2023 to 4.4 in 2024. Her strong people skills and use of the CARE Framework within The Unipart Way played a key role in this success. Additionally, 100% employee retention contributed to our contract extension with Volvo last year.
